Architecture and interior design

Peter Kammermann is an interior designer, creating scenarios in a universe inspired by his imagination. His work goes beyond the limits of sectors, with his only true specialisation being his ability to design genuinely unique pieces.
He has his own take on elegance, and an eye that is both cultured yet full of empathy when it comes to reinventing the past. He can re-imagine rooms, transforming, restoring and optimising what already exists.
Combining functionality with the poetry of the moment, he imbues the serenity of rare beauty into properties both old and contemporary throughout Europe.

Profile

Peter Kammermann

He is a free spirit, intuitive, a poet with the fire within. He knows the fixed norms of standardisation – and how to go beyond them. He knows imitation – and how to avoid it. He knows the old masters – and how to steer his own course towards beauty, creating a voluntary confusion between the dream world and the reality of other emotions, other serenities, other atmospheres.
Putting Peter Kammermann’s achievements into words is no easy task.
Beneath the sobriety and finesse of his image, and certain resolutely English traits, beats the creative heart of a man who knows no bounds in terms of what he does and what he is. He is a creature of elegance, obsessed with detail ever since he first drew breath, yet with the sensuality of the imaginary.
Upholstery was the original trade that he learnt, and he plies that trade with a sense of refinement which is rooted in his fascination for textiles. Early in his career, he developed a passion for history books, for far-off travel and cultures, searching out artisanal traditions, rare objects and precious materials to add to his collection.
He has built up a reputation almost despite himself to become a raconteur, telling tales that give time and space their own room to breathe. Called away from Switzerland to Venice and London, he oversees interior architecture projects, restoring and giving context to exceptional abodes. He creates living worlds that are extremely personal, bringing together materials, nuances, objects, bold ideas, silences and heartbeats that are as singular as they are complementary.
